Drying technology, thermal treatment and processes

All our products undergo a thermal drying process. Freshly cut wood contains a high amount of moisture. Without removing this water and humidity, it is impossible to produce quality wood products. Drying the timber improves its mechanical properties, stabilises the wood, reduces the risk of infestation (fungi, mold, insects), decreases weight, and controls product shrinkage. Our drying chamber is built using Bollmann high-quality, next-generation technology. The drying process is fully automated and consists of several phases. Depending on the type and thickness of the timber, the drying time varies – from 15 days for pine to 45 days for oak. All our products always contain between 8% and 10% moisture.

Steaming of timber

Steaming sawn timber involves exposing the material to saturated water vapour at a controlled temperature and pressure. The purpose of steaming is to sterilize the wood (if infested by insect larvae or fungi), change its colour, and improve its properties. All hardwood species are steamed, while softwoods are not. Each wood species has a specific steaming duration. The steaming chamber is built according to the Bollmann system, where the water steam is heated to 120°C at a low pressure of 0.5 bar.

Processing technology

All our products undergo a detailed processing and sanding procedure using multiple sanding grades, preparing the wood for impregnation and protection.

Coating and wood protection technology

The protection process is highly complex, and products are treated with several layers of coating. We use Italian coatings based on natural oils and waxes, ensuring environmental safety and 100% eco-friendly products. The coating and impregnation stage is crucial for the durability and longevity of the products, and we take great pride in this.
